I have been aware of Chemtrails and associated technologies, but this really ties the whole concept of geo-engineering and GMO foods together.

This is very scary stuff when we begin to realize the end ramifications of "neutering" our food supplies via atmospheric spraying. We are in fact neutralizing our ability to grow heirloom seed-bearing foods. We are destroying our biodiversity, and that is just the beginning of the problem when it comes to GMO plants.

I suggest that we all do a little more research on the possible dangers of GMO foods before we simply sit back and disregard this information.

...and if what you find is disturbing, maybe you should do something about it...

I've been following the lovely H1N1 controversy for the past few weeks and some of the accumulated information I've acquired is quite stunning.

So far, my favourite piece of information is the list of ingredients, for example, a Canadian version: Arepanrix™ H1N1 (AS03-adjuvanted H1N1 pandemic influenza vaccine)

Formaldehyde (embalming fluid)

Thimerosal (organic form of mercury?)

Squalene (think "Gulf War Syndrome" and Anthrax vaccine)

Polysorbate 80 (possible "synergistic toxicity" and "anaphylactic shock")

Sodium Deoxycholate (a water soluble ionic detergent)

Here are a few other interesting pieces of information that I haven't been able to completely verify:

1 - H1N1 vaccine appears to be a possible trigger in a long line of flu shots, when used in combination, appear to decrease the body's immunity to pneumonia causing bacteria

2 - Most reported H1N1 fatalities are actually due to pneumonia... ??? (just a minute, now...)

3 - The current H1N1 mutation (or version) is now comparable to a bad cold or flu when it hits, so vaccination is useless in this case... It's a bad flu - end of story.

4 - The current H1N1 flu shot is only good for 6 months... WHAT THEN? Pay big pharma for another shot, I suppose...

5 - The world might quite possibly be on the verge of "mandatory H1N1 inoculation" with free tracking devices for each customer! ( IBM and Verichip http://snipurl.com/t4srb [www_theflucase_com] )

*etc, etc... Let's see how deep the rabbit hole really goes :)

The most interesting information that I have found is in relation to Vitamin D and it's effect on the immune system. There seems to be a direct correlation between the amount of Vitamin D present in our bodies and the body's immunity to flu viruses.

Now, faced with all of this new information, I find myself at a loss. I am completely amazed at how many people simply WANT to go line up and get a flu shot and get it over with. This vaccination is an ultra quick solution to a potential problem that might not exist at all! Is this the result of panic and media hype on the poor sheep-like citizens of the world? Possibly.

The University of Central Florida (UCF) has a new concept in basic transportation:

It's a very interesting concept for basic localized transportation that can be easily adapted to any low speed electric vehicle, such as the ZENN or the Think. (There are many other examples available.)

Ever wonder about what happens to plastic after we simply discard it?

The answer would very much surprise you...

I had a chance to view the documentary "ADDICTED TO PLASTIC" and what it had to say was not only quite disturbing, but also cautiously optimistic.

In short, the last 100 years of plastic production and development have produced some fantastic materials that are specifically tailored for specific applications. Each one of these materials are extremely durable... but that's the problem... they simply don't go away! These materials are forever with us, and we don't have to look far to see the effects of the tail end of this life cycle.

It's not only possible that we're creating a real mess in the environment, but that we're also polluting the food chain in the process, toxifying ourselves without realizing it.

BUT there are some people trying to do something about this. We are looking at recycling and re-manufacturing existing materials from both current and discarded (garbage) sources. There are other people currently in the process of re-defining and re-engineering acceptable parameters for the manufacturing and production of traditional plastics; these parameters include thickness, chemical composition and the ability to reuse and recycle, or close-loop these materials.

The most interesting development is the introduction of bio-plastics. These plastics are from food sources such as corn or starchy materials and can be engineered to decompose in UV or completely disintegrate on contact with water.

These are absolutely fascinating developments...

I challenge you to view this film... It will get you to stop and think about who we and what kind of a mess we are capable of creating when we lose sight of global environmental responsibility.

Plastic is necessary, but it's time to shift gears and take this game to the next level.

The art of closed-looping existing systems and the current development of bio-plastics are a sure sign of the times....

Chernobyl and the Memories of Cheap Energy

If I say to you "Chernobyl", what comes to mind?

I asked my niece what she knew about it. She had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. That's absolutely shocking! We have forgotten so much already!

Chernobyl was the worst nuclear accident to date involving a civilian nuclear power facility.

This made 3 Mile Island look like spilled milk in sheer comparison!

The term "China Syndrome" comes to mind... a deadly runaway core meltdown involving toxic radioactive metals that could bore a hole directly down into the Earth's very core.

...but China Syndrome never happened... thankfully.

Elena has done a wonderful job documenting the history of nuclear power at Chernobyl, and the end result of this deadly accident. There is alot of material on this website about the myth of cheap "safe" nuclear power. It's really worth taking the time to look this over.

We should never forget this terrible nuclear legacy that we have created... a toxic wasteland... a vast physical reminder of the true cost of nuclear power within this tiny little environment we call Earth.

But apparently we forget too easily; our infatuation with fission returns, but once again, at what cost?

In the mid 1980's I was introduced to a journey of site and sound that completely transcended my understanding of modern society and it's relationship to the planet we live on.

The thing that resonated the most in this film was the Hopi word "Koyaanisqatsi" or "life out of balance".

This lack of balance resonates heavily throughout the production, gently instilling on the viewer that there is a massive underlying problem with the way we perceive our place in the scheme of things on this tiny blue globe.

It is only near the end of the production that the actual

meaning of this word is suggested to the viewer, and the possibility of prophecy comes to life. To understand more about the Hopi Prophecy connected to this timeline, we must dig deeper and consider the potential ramifications of this information...

Over 20 years later I find myself faced with another documentary film that I can't ignore:

This documentary explores the wonderful world of industrialization and our total addiction to fossil fuels.

If you thought that my first selection was harsh, this little beauty will completely jam your eyes open and make you rethink everything that we perceive as perfectly normal in our wonderful industrialized world.

I don't think that anyone truly understands exactly how dangerous our continuing endeavor to suck every little drop of petroleum from the ground is becoming... and unfortunately it may be too late to prevent severe political, social, and economic repercussions from occurring on a world wide level.

It appears that retaining control of a shrinking resource base at all costs may actually cost us almost everything that we weren't willing to give up in the first place.

That's both very ironic and terrifying.

Both of these films are wonderfully put together documentaries and very well laid out. Neither film is action-packed, but the information being conveyed is potentially difficult to digest. Koyaanisqatsi may be the most visual of the two, but the repetitive nature of the medium is almost trance-like.

I would highly suggest to anyone that reads this to take the time and view both films, even if it must be done a few minutes at a time, alternating from one to the other... and even consider purchasing them on DVD format for better sound and video quality.

I think the experience would be very awakening indeed...

Peak Oil final warnings from Matt Simmons (head of the oil investment bank Simmons and Company International) and Robert Hirsch (energy advisor) are beginning to resonate heavily in the world energy market.

It appears that Peak Oil has not only passed in 2005, but the oil industry is destabilizing due to the extremely low commodity prices on the oil market. Both men warn of a very serious situation now developing world wide regarding oil supply and bottlenecking and that the energy system is potentially spiraling out of control within the very near future. In a nutshell, we are looking at major supply destruction within the world energy system that cannot be undone.

Keep in mind that both men are veterans of the energy industry and for them to present this genre of analysis to the public is not a very good sign.

Anything Into Oil

So, if at first I sounded completely anti-petrolium, this little tidbit should really make you wonder:

Don't get me wrong! It's not that I think oil is evil... I just think we really have to rethink our long-term use of resources and their direct influence on our tiny little Earth environment.

There is a place for oil... but what kind of oil? Deep-based petrolium is a shame to be wasting. This resource is non-renewable and extremely costly in the long-run to extract and use. How about letting it sit where it is and regulate it's use... why? This type of oil has too many applications to be simply burning it; plastic and chemical development should have first dibs on these limited reserves.

What we should be doing is converting our "garbage" into fuel, things such as:

raw sewage
automobile shredder residue
pcb's
mad cow infected livestock.

*These waste products are a toxic mess...

Just imagine a world powered by renewable resources including our prescious garbage and carbon waste streams.

Imagine electric vehicles and converted light oil from waste to fuel the rest... WOW, what a world that would be.

I hope my grandchildren get to experience this kind of world wide change....

...this paradigm shift of the energy industry!

WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?

Out of curiosity I rented this flic to see what it was really about. I was in for a slight shock...

I knew that electric vehicles were a reality, but I never really understood how close to launching large scale production the not-so-big 3 auto manufacturers had come.

I am stunned that the automotive industry did not embrace this achievement throughout the world. We really are addicted to fosil fuels. I think we are even more addicted to big vehicles in North America. This only compounds the coming problem we are about to face...

15 years ago I owned a car that did about 50 mpg... my Ford Festiva!

5 years ago I owned a car that did about 60 mpg... my little green GEO!

Now it is nearly impossible to find anything nearly as economical. WHY? I think this movie offers a good suggestion thread... don't just take my word or opinion for it - decide for yourselves and watch this movie when you have the chance.

I can no longer take any car-selling hype seriously. I don't want to be sold what car manufacturers want to sell the public. I don't want a big car. I don't want a gas powered car. I don't need an insulated living room on wheels to get me to the store. I don't want an SUV.

Here in the north, people think that this electric technology would be useless. I DISAGREE!

The cold of winter does pose a problem, but it can easily be overcome:

Cold weakens batteries therefore they have to be kept in an insulated heated battery storage compartment. When batteries charge, they heat-up. If the heat from the charging process is not sufficient enough, the storage compartment can be augmented with heat tape strips, similar to what is used to keep pipes from freezing in winter.

If lithium batteries are too sensitive in the cold, may I suggest using the newer high-capacity lead acid batteries? These batteries look like a 6-pack of cans in a single case and are about 1/2 the size of a standard car battery. They would be a good midpoint between the low-end lead acid batteries and the high-end lithium batteries.

The heating system in a vehicle could be a dual system. By using a ceramic heating coil in the environmental controls, an electric vehicle could heat the incoming airflow without using the heat from an non-existant internal combustion engine. The only problem with an electric heater is decreased driving range, depending upon how much charge the heating system shunts from main battery storage. For colder weather operation a secondary heating system could be optional. A seperate propane or alcohol heating system could be easily made available; remember, this is not new technology to the transportation industry (locomotives, trucks, and other insulated transports).

For anyone who has seen the Apollo display at Cape Canaveral there is no doubt that electric vehicles can be easily produced and fueled. HELL, if NASA could send 3 men to the Moon in those tiny tin cans we call capsules two generations ago, we should have no problem sending an electric car down the road in mid January in Northern Canada. What's a little snow to a well INSULATED vehicle. (Did I mention insulating the vehicles against the elements?)

So, with the correct combination of battery type, storage design, environmental control systems (heat) and vehicle insulation, electric vehicles could work quite well in an extreme environment...

BUT the question is: Can we figure this out and produce it before fuel reaches $3 per Litre, never mind $3 per gallon?

...only time will tell...
